Last year, the national arm of public radio launched a podcast network that brings together podcasts of existing radio shows as well as original broadcasts from NPR and local stations. These podcasts were downloaded 9 million times between August and December and have attracted a sponsor, the Acura car brand. The ramifications, Thomas says, are many."
