Congratulations to CEO Susan Howarth and COO Jack Dominic at pioneer (1954) public television station WCET in Cincinnati for their web site redesign which puts streaming-on-demand local content up front. I'm told this is a phase I effort, so would suggest downloads in addition to streaming and RSS as good phase II additions. You can (and should) check it out at either wcet.org or at cetconnect.org. Here are links to two news stories about it: CET feeds demanding public (Cincinnati Business Courier) and CET's new Web site offers on-demand video (The Enquirer).
You should also check out The WCET Story, which I didn't see as a streaming choice on their site, but is available Open Media Network. This program looks as though it was produced in the early 1960s. Not only is it a great look back at the history of public television but toward the end of the program the request for viewers to get UHF set-top converters is particularly resonant to the DTT situation today. To view it, go to omn.org and download the small client. Then in the Guide tab, search on WCET to find the program. --Dennis
