TV over-the-air strategies

I gave a panel presentation on this topic this morning at the PBS Showcase meeting in Dallas, arguing for a two-pronged approach to retaining valuable over-the-air viewers after the 17 Feb. 2009 analog shut-down and perhaps even bring back a few from cable and DBS who prefer the better quality of  broadcast HD and SD over the too-often dumbed down transmissions found there.  The deck is posted in the Files section to the left (or click here) and a related spreadsheet showing Nielsen Media OTA estimates by DMA has also been posted there for a few months (click here).  Note that other estimates  by Home Tech and Centris place the OTA number considerably higher (17-19%) than this one (about 13%).  --Dennis
