Many church records for Stadsbygd and neighboring parishes are available online as images. For Stadsbygd, Rissa, Lensvik, Hasselvika, Stjørna, Bjugn, Ørland and other parishes in Sør-Trøndelag, click here. For Leksvik and other parishes in Nord-Trøndelag, click here. Older records are in Danish-Norwegian and newer ones are in Norwegian. There is a wide variation in handwriting quality, and you may wish to Google help with Gothic handwriting for some of the older records.
Here's a guide to the sections:
Fødte og døpte = birth and christening
Konfirmerte = confirmation (usually at age 15 -- often gives birth years of parents)
Ekteviede = marriage
Døde og begravede = death and burial
Inn- og utflyttede = in and out migration from the parish
Vaksinerte = vaccination
For some parishes, records have been entered into computer databases and are searchable online. For those in Sør-Trøndelag, click here (Stadsbygd parish not currently one of these). For Nord-Trøndelag, click here (includes Leksvik).
Med vennlig hilsen,
Dennis

Tybring,
I am an ancestor of Hans Samuelsen and Otte Hansen. My grandfather has done quite a bit of research on this part of our family. I'd love to talk with you and share what we know. I don't know about the paintings but I will talk with him about it. Contact me: benjaminm@edmartin.com.

Does anyone know anything about an old portrait of a priest named Hans Samuelsen Schreuder. This man was at one time in the mid 1600s a parish priest at Bergen Domkirke. The portrait was painted by a well-known artist Elias Fiigenschoug who also painted the son Otte Hansen Schreuder. According to an article in Store Norsk Leksikon concerning the artist Fiigenschoug, both of these portraits were hanging in the Stadsbygd church in Rissa at least as late as the 1920's. Norsk Folkemuseum has a copy of the portrait of Otte, but not of Hans. I am hoping to find the present location ofthe portrait of Hans or failing that just a copy of the portrait. Does anyone have any information? Thank you.
