Jake Shapiro has a nice post triggered by a new BBC experiment about opportunities that public radio (and TV) stations have to help "curate, amplify, annotate, and reconnect the blog conversations already taking place in their community." See Another BBC experiment worth noting. Link: Jake Shapiro.
I think this is a very big opportunity for public service. Jake links to a couple of other public radio examples, but ABC affiliate, WKRN-TV, has the most ambitious implementation, having aggregated some 400 community blogs at nashvilleistalking.com under Terry Heaton's tutelage. By way of eating my own dog food, it's on the to-do list for our "giant" three-person integrated media team (covers radio, TV and education units that report to me). --Dennis
